The Technician will provide essential technical support to ensure the smooth functioning of all ICT systems, engineering tools, and life/natural sciences laboratory equipment within the Centre. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software infrastructure, supporting engineering applications, and assisting staff and stakeholders in effectively utilizing technology and laboratory equipment. The Technician will enhance productivity and operational efficiency by ensuring that all systems are optimized for performance and reliability.

Responsibilities Summary
  • Provide hands-on technical support for ICT, engineering, and laboratory systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair hardware, software, and technical equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve system, network, and equipment faults for CEIRD and its institutes.
  • Support staff, clients and stakeholders in the effective use of technical systems and tools.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct routine maintenance checks.
  • Assist with setup and operation of laboratories, workshops, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, data security, and operational standards.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment, tools, and technical resources.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Higher/National Diploma, or Degree in ICT, Engineering and Life/Natural Sciences or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in laboratory, research centres, systems maintenance, or networking.
  • Proficiency in operating systems, technical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of hardware maintenance, networking, and IT security best practices.
  • Good communication skills for supporting staff, students, and stakeholders in technical matters.
